We started our day with a walk from our hotel to the Sydney Opera House. It is breathtaking! We were treated to a private tour where we learned about the competition for the design of the building and the history of its construction as well as the year-round symphony, opera and ballet productions performed here.
We then boarded a boat for a two-hour cruise all around the harbor. The day was warm and sunny; not a cloud in the sky. We saw all of the landmarks (bridge, Opera House, etc.) and neighborhoods of the city from the perspective of the water, including gorgeous luxury homes and condos. We also were served lunch on the boat.
When we returned to the dock we boarded a bus for a city tour and saw some of the same neighborhoods that we had seen from the water. Our final stop was the iconic Bondi Beach where we had a half hour to enjoy the. Sunshine and have a cup of coffee.
Dinner tonight was with Neal and Ellen at the O Bar, a revolving restaurant with magnificent views of the city at night. This is one of the most beautiful cities that we’ve visited with beautiful architecture, many parks, ferries and trains that work, and a vibrant waterfront.
