Jet Boating in Queenstown

Our day started with a somewhat harrowing one hour ride up and then back down a mountain on a one-lane gravel road to the embarkation point for our Skipper’s Canyon Jet Boating adventure. The scenery on the mountain was stunning and much of the footage for The Lord of the Rings was shot here.

The jet boats were an adventure!! They fly at up to 50 mph through narrow canyons and only require 4-6 inches of water. The trip lasted about twenty minutes and was beautiful and fun! We were supposed to helicopter back to Bob’s Peak above town and then ride a gondola down into town, but it was too foggy, so we had to take the bus back down. The helicopter has been rescheduled to tomorrow, weather permitting.

After we returned, we went to Fergburger, a well-known burger place in town with Ellen, Neal, Jimi And John from the tour. Cliff and I then walked around town and did a little shopping and I then went for a much-needed manicure.

Dinner tonight was at the hotel and we had a lovely time two other couples from the group.
