We’re in the airport lounge after a less than auspicous start. First, while we were still at home we weighed our luggage and our carry on’s were over the limit for the small planes that we’ll be traveling on. Lots of shifting stuff back and forth.
Then, the driver, courtesy of Emiratus Airlines, didn’t show up. When we called the company, we were told that “he had tire problems, which didn’t make us feel too secure. We called a taxi,had a great driver, and Emiratus will get the bill.We’re ready to relax on the long flight to Dubai. Then an eight hour layover, where we’ll try to get some rest in a hotel, and on to Capetown, arriving on Tuesday morning with the time difference.
