I am so excited about the animals that we are seeing on our drives, that my plan was to upload tons of pictures for you to see, but, alas, wifi is painfully slow with media files, so I will have to be content with a few.
We arrived at Lion Sands, inside Kruger Park, yesterday afternoon and almost immediately set out on our first drive. We ride in Range Rovers holding six guests, a driver, and a spotter. We often go off-road, bumping through the bush to reach an animal that has bee sighted. The drives last for about three hours and we do one at 6:00 a.m. and another at 4:00 p.m.
We have seen all of the “Big Five”; Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. The leopard is feasting on a very recent impala kill. We often are incredibly close to the animals, like ten feet away! I feel like the work that I have done with my camera and editing over the last six months or so is paying off, because I am pleased with the results that I am getting. Here are some photos from yesterday and today. This is not the zoo folks!
