If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know that over the summer I planted some butterfly-friendly flowers to attract butterflies to my yard. My friend gave me several small milkweed plants, food for monarchs, which I painstakingly tended. They did well and I occasionally checked them for caterpillars or chrysalis’. I thought it was too late in the year, but look what I found yesterday!
I think he will make a chrysalis in a few days and shortly a butterfly will emerge. I’m on the lookout for more; we’ll see. I have also been saving seeds from the seed pods to plant in the Spring. Maybe next summer I’ll have a garden full of butterflies to photograph!

Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see the chrysalis, they’re beautiful. I also panted some Milkweed and am hoping the butterflies will come around this Summer.
