Olympus Macro Comparison–60mm vs 25 mm

Desleyjane,  fellow blogger who I admire, recently compared her 60mm macro lens with her new 30mm macro lens.

I was relieved that Desleyjane ended up preferring the 60mm, as that is my macro lens and I really did not want to feel pressured to buy a new one!  Her post got me to thinking about doing a comparison of my 60mm with my 25mm, although the 25 is not really a macro (extreme close-up) lens.

I went outside and picked a bunch of flowering clover.  I did not have the patience to compare as many different shots as Desleyjane did, but I have four from each lens.

The first set was taken with my 60mm macro lens–

The second set was taken with my 25mm lens

I, too, still prefer the 60mm lens, although I think I like the green clover leaves taken with the 25mm better.  It is not possible to get as tight a shot with the 25mm lens as it is with a true macro lens, so in a way this is like comparing apples and oranges, but it was challenging and fun to take this shoot.
