Right Before My Eyes!

Ever since Nicole suggested “Catkins” as the theme for Macro Moments Challenge #38 I have searched high and low, without much success.  Today I was sitting on my back deck and guess what I sighted right on the other side of the fence, a tree loaded with them!  This is what I love about photography; it makes us aware of so many things in this beautiful world that we would otherwise never notice or learn about.

I’ve learned something, Susan, didn’t know what they were called! We used to make them fly like helicopters as kids. 🙂

  2. Ugh! I didn’t realise those are catkins. I encountered many of these over the last two weeks.

To my eye your ‘catkins’ are actually sycamore or maple seeds, but they make a great photo. I like the effect of green on green with the light breaking through from behind.
