My submission to The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge Story
I am currently vacationing on Maui and our first morning in began with a story unfolding on the beach. A monk seal had washed or climbed ashore. It turns out that this is an endangered species and that they come ashore to sleep periodically. Soon members of an organization that protects these animals arrived. They were well prepared to rope the area off and post signs informing onlookers that she needed to be left alone. Onlookers came and went throughout the day. The seal stayed all day, but by the next morning had made her way back into the ocean.
