For his Tuesday challenge this week, Dutch has chosen the theme Sunrise. I saw the sun rising from my window a few weeks ago and ran outside with my camera to capture the glory. I am also submitting this photo to Self Taught Photographers with the theme Sun, Moon and Stars and Terri’s Sunday Stills with the theme “Daylight Hours”.

Such a stunning photo. I am so impressed! Do you mind if I ask – what kind of camera you use? I am in the market…I think 🙂

Thank you, one letter UP. You are so kind! I shoot with an Olympus E-M1 Mark II. I chose Olympus mirrorless because the body and lenses are smaller and lighter. I have been very happy with my camera and have acquired a collection of about six different lenses, for use in different situations. I’d be more than happy to answer any additional questions that you may have.

Thank you! I haven’t seen that one. I did look at a mirrorless Canon, but didn’t like the complicated touchscreen setup for changing settings (at least to me it was). I used a Canon SLR back in the film days.

I think these cameras all have a learning curve. This on has something called super control panel which has all setting changes on one screen. There’s a guy called John Greengro who has a wonderful series of camera training classes. I bought the one specific to my camera and it was extremely helpful. What are you using now?

Classes – great idea! And all the settings on one screen, I like that too. I have a Canon digital point & shoot which I gave up on long ago because of its limitations. Use my iPhone mostly now, which is frustrating for many things – but is better than the point & shoot.

You could rent a camera or two to try before you buy. I’ve rented lenses from borrowlenses.com.

Also a great idea. I will look into renting first if I can find one. Thank you!
