Friendly Friday: Remote

Amanda’s topic for this week’s Friendly Friday Challenge is Remote. There’s no place that is much more remote than the sun.  I returned to the photos that I made of the total eclipse of the sun, which occurred almost exactly two years ago, on August 21, 2017.  I had to cover my lens with a special filter to avoid damaging it.  During a solar eclipse the moon moves in front of the sun, blocking it’s light and throwing the earth into darkness. This was the end of the eclipse, when the sun was eclipsed by a sliver of the moon. We did not experience total darkness here in California, but about 75%.  It definitely did get darker and was quite an amazing experience!

After I posted my photos I was contacted by an online magazine requesting permission to use this one in an article about the eclipse, which was quite a thrill.
