For this week’s Lens-Artist challenge, Tina has chosen the theme Nostalgic. When I was growing up we had beautiful Daphne bush in our yard. When it was blooming my mother would put a sprig in my father’s lapel as he went off to work. The distinctive sweet perfume of the flowers has always made me feel nostalgic.
I have tried to grow this plant unsuccessfully many times. It is picky about how much light and water it gets. Last year I bought this one at Filoli which has a very fine nursery. I decided to put it in a pot, rather than the ground, so that I would have more control over the light and water that it needs. It has done well and the first flowers are about to open!

ThT is SO romantic Susan! I can just see your dad enjoying that scent all day! Hope your plant blooms soon
