Last week was week number two of my Pandemic Porch Portraits project. Each day I visit one or two different family in Willow Glen, where I live, and FROM A VERY SAFE DISTANCE, photograph them on their front porch. All that I ask in return, is that the family make a donation to an organization that is helping people get through the pandemic or to a medical organization. Participants are able to download their photos and order prints and at the end of the project I will make a book to remember this historic time.
A highlight of the week had to be the Gum family. They live in a restored farmhouse with a barn, right in a residential neighborhood. Included in their photo are the family, two miniature horses, a chicken and the family dog! The barn cat isn’t very friendly, so stayed behind.
The last two photos are courtesy of Margaret Ma. The first is her family on their porch, and the second her grandfather in San Francisco during the great flu epidemic of 1918!
Great Project Susan!
