Pandemic Porch Portraits Week Six!

Last week was week number six, and the final, of my Pandemic Porch Portraits project.  Each day I visited one or two different family in Willow Glen, where I live, and FROM A VERY SAFE DISTANCE, photographed them on their front porch. All that I asked in return, was that the family make a donation to an organization that is helping people or a business get through the pandemic or to a medical organization.  Participants are able to download their photos and order prints.

I loved doing this project and it definitely kept me busy during our ongoing lockdown. Over the next couple of months I will compile a book with photos and comments from the families. I hope that this book will preserve a view into these historic times and that many years from now a grandparent might browse through it with a grandchild as they explain what life was like during “The Great Pandemic of 2020”.

  3. It was certainly a great idea and I love the messages and the way people chose to represent themselves. I think you’ll create a real treasure for people when you make the books.
