The theme for this week’s Birds Weekly Challenge, hosted by Our Eyes Open, is Hunted or Consumed by Humans
I do not live out in the country, but a couple of years ago we had a family of wild turkeys visiting our neighborhood for a good three weeks. They were spotted over quite a wide area and would fly up into the trees or onto roofs. One even came right up onto our front porch! Not the greatest photo as I grabbed my phone to capture him. One day they just disappeared; moved on to greener pastures, I guess.

Wow! Fun visitors. Glad you got a shot, Susan!

It was quite amazing having them in the neighborhood, Jane. A funny story, we landed in Maui and our Next-door neighbor had texted a photo of one standing on our front porch. He said that he had put the house on Air B&B and the renter had arrived 😂

Nice one! Flown to greener pastures or the neighbors took care of them? LOL! I say that because we had a Guinea roaming around our neighborhood for about 2 months making all kinds of racket. We got new neighbors from a third world country. Within a week, that Guinea disappeared, never to be seen again. She laid 24 eggs in our shrubs but of course they were not fertilized. We eventually had to throw them in the garbage. Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

We get a lot of those “suburban” turkeys in our neighborhood, Susan. Yours looks like a healthy Tom turkey!
