Lens-Artists #128: Holiday Lights

This week Leya is hosting the weekly Lens-Artists Challenge.  Her theme is  Holiday Season. We always put a Chanukah menorah in our front window.  This year we outlined the window in blue lights and I think it looks quite lovely. To me it is a reminder that our people have not always felt safe proclaiming publicly, “We are of the Jewish faith” and in some parts of the world this would still be dangerous today.  Despite what we have experienced this strange year, I still feel very blessed.

  1. This is very beautiful! The blue and the warm yellow are gloriously matched. A friend of my children’s is called Menorah, and I find that too a very beautiful name.

  2. It’s gorgeous Susan – and I know just what you mean. growing up Christian I never really thought much about it, just felt sorry for my friends who didn’t get a Christmas tree. But since marrying my husband and becoming a two-faith family I see some of the prejudices I was never aware of, and that I still don’t understand. I simply remind myself that it’s their loss. Happy Holidays to you and yours and all the best in 2021
