Anna’s Hummingbird

The theme for this week’s Bird Weekly challenge, hosted by Our Eyes Open, is Birds You Love

This is a no-brainer for me.  I am intrigued by hummingbirds and  can watch and photograph them for hours.  This is an Anna’s Hummingbird enjoying himself in my yard; they are very common in  Northern California.

  1. What a great shot! I love seeing the different species when we come out west. We only have the Ruby-throated Hummingbird here in Florida and they are here from about March-April until as late as December before heading further south. We have a large hummingbird bush in our front yard. No feeder here and yet they fight over this big bushy flowering plant. 🙂

  2. Aww, so pretty, Susan! I already miss my little Anna’s. They stuck around all year too. I’m looking forward to meeting some new feathered friends up here!
