Lens-Artists #147: Drought-Resistant

This week Amy is the host of the Lens-Artists Challenge and her theme is Gardens.

When we think of gardens we usually think of very lush and beautiful landscapes, but such gardens require a lot of water.  We are prone to droughts in California (we are in one now), so three years ago we got rid of our front lawn and converted our yard to one that contains plants that require very little water.  It has filled in very nicely and the plants are currently showing their Spring finery. In it’s own way it is quite lovely.

  1. I agree, we need to consider water conservation. In Texas we are allow to water only once a week. Thank you for sharing these beautiful flowers!

  2. I love this. Many people are beginning to convert their gardens to hold more local plants, things which are appropriate to the ecology.
