Lens-Artists #159: Postcard From Alaska

This week Ana of Anvinca’s Gallery is the guest host of the Lens-Artists Challenge. She has chosen the theme, “Postcards”

I have been sharing photos from my recent trip to Alaska over the past few weeks. I think that this one of beautiful Mt. Denali in Denali National Park is “postcard worthy”.

  2. Definitely postcard-worthy Susan! Although we had a fabulous visit in Alaska, our views of Denali were not the best. We were scheduled for a “flight-seeing” trip around it on our last day in the park (we’d been there for a week filled with clouds and only one evening of a partial view). Sadly we got word from the pilot that they couldn’t fly and we had to take a schoolbus back to the airport for our next leg. We missed our plane and were delayed several hours but our next leg was amazing so we didn’t feel bad other than missing the best views of Denali. Thanks for showing us what we missed!

    • I’m sorry that you didn’t get better views of the mountain, Tina. We took the school bus tour to the end of the park and back which was great with lots of animal sightings. We also had plane delays! Was the next leg your time in remote bear country?

      • It was indeed – we spent a week in a salmon fishing camp flighseeing, fishing (my first and only time but I loved it) and visiting Brooks Falls for bear watching. An incredible trip.

      • Yes, I read your beautiful Blurb book when we were planning our trip and you also texted me some very helpful info. As you’ve seen from my posts, we were on a Nat Geo ship which was also incredible.
