As a child my family visited Lake Tahoe in the summer and we took our children both summer and winter. Once they were grown we stopped going to this special place, but I’ve wanted to get back for years.

Finally last fall we booked a hotel room and drove back into the mountains. We drove along the lake and took long walks in the forest. On the morning that we left we awoke to the first snowfall of the season. In most ways the area doesn’t seem to have changed much at all. It was wonderful to be back!
